Female seen in mid-September in Spain. The overall impression was of a fast flying, washed out looking specimen with a predominantly pale green appearance, particularly underneath.

Several specimens like this were seen in Extremadura and central Spain. Such a contrast to early season specimens. Since the species is univoltine they have presumably become very worn and are some of the last survivors of the season.

The upperside markings are very similar to silver-washed fritillary, form valezina.
