western spectre
There are two female forms: typica and brachycerca. I think this is the latter since it has short claspers. In spite of the name, typica is less common. The species is found in western Mediterranean regions (in this case, the Dordogne). It is crepuscular. This was seen during the early evening hanging under the eaves of a house. It will often cling to vertical surfaces such as this, particularly if its colours blend in well. I was lucky to see it.
