There are two female forms: typica and brachycerca.
I think this is the latter since it has short claspers. In spite of the name,
typica is less common. The species is found in western Mediterranean
regions (in this case, the Dordogne). It is crepuscular. This was seen during the
early evening hanging under the eaves of a house. It will often cling to vertical
surfaces such as this, particularly if its colours blend in well.
I was lucky to see it.
